KPI and performance appraisal software
Managers write a KPI plan for each employee on a quarterly or monthly cycle, with metrics, targets and weights. Progress is reported every month, target changes go through approval, and the final score is locked when the period closes. Closed KPI results then feed the performance appraisal.

What you can do
KPI plan per employee
Pick a quarter or month inside the plan form, so HR does not have to set up a period first. Each item has a metric type, direction, target and weight, and weights add up to 100.
Department KPI above employee KPI
A department holds its own targets, such as quarterly revenue, and splits them across team members by percentage. Approved numbers roll up into the department result, and the head's KPI is that department result.
Monthly check-ins and approved adjustments
Employees report progress each month and their manager validates it. Changing a published plan goes through the approval workflow and is saved as a new version.
Appraisal scored from KPI results
HR sets up templates and cycles, and each form moves from self review to manager to department head. The final score combines closed KPI results with competency ratings, and a report shows the outcome.
How it works
- 1
Write and publish the plan
The department head or HR picks the cycle, enters metrics and targets, and publishes. The employee acknowledges the plan.
- 2
Report progress every month
The employee enters actuals, the manager validates them, and the department figure updates from approved values.
- 3
Close the period and score
The period closes once every closing actual is validated. Scores are locked and ready for the appraisal cycle.
Frequently asked questions
Can I set KPIs at department level?
Yes. A department has its own KPI plan with an accountable owner, and its targets can be split across the employees in that department.
What happens if a KPI target changes mid-period?
The change is requested through the approval workflow, by default to the department head. Once approved, the plan is saved as a new version and the old version stays on record.
How is the performance appraisal score calculated?
The final score combines the KPI score with a competency score from the manager's ratings, weighted 60 and 40 by default and adjustable in the template. The KPI score comes from closed periods only.
Can employees see their own KPIs?
Yes. Employees see their published plan, acknowledge it, report progress and complete a self review during the appraisal cycle. Deeper talent tools will come with the Stavis Talent application.
